Here are some pictures of hikes I have been on with the Oak Ridges Trail Association. Some people are having challenges manipulating the thumbnail pages, so I created this HELP file. (Click on HELP). If you have a Facebook account, please consider joining our Oak Ridges Trail Group.

• Wed, Apr-11, 2012, Orono Crown Lands 14km; Moderate pace; 4hrs. Drop out points. Hike along Wilmot Creek (Rainbow Trout should be spawning) and return thru the former Ont. Provincial Tree Nursery. Refreshments at Dave Hintona's. John Windatt

  A collection of hikers from both the Wednesday & Monday groups joined Dave & Jon on this hike. Unfortunaly it was past the main spawning season but we did get to see a number of large Trout. And it is quite a scenic path by the river.

• Mon, Apr-9, 2012, YRT, Hall Tract ORTA Map 4; Slow to Moderate pace; 2.5hrs. Sheltered forest with some hills. Bring along water and a snack. Well behaved dogs are encouraged to bring their owners. Going for lunch afterwards. Brian & Wilma

  Forty-five trekkers plus an escort of 5 well mannered canines set out on great trails in York Region Forest's Hall Tract. We walked just under 8km but with the hills, valleys and sometimes loose sandy trails

• Mon, Mar-26, 2012, YRF Hollidge Tract ORTA Map 4; Slow to Moderate pace; 2.5hrs. Hike sheltered, forest trails. Bring along a warm drink and wear boots, icers or snowshoes as the
  weather dictates. Well mannered dogs are encouraged to bring along their owners. Join us for lunch afterwards. Brian & Wilma

  SPRING FLOWERS HAVE ARRIVED,  on our last March hike, all 36 of us saw new blossoms of hepatica reacting to the early heat -a few bloodroot were encountered by a few folks

• Mon, Mar-12, 2012, YRF Bendor and Graves tract. ORTA Map 4; Slow to Moderate pace; 2.5hrs. Sheltered forest trails.   The 33 trekkers and 4 well mannered canines explored the trails of the Bendor and Graves forest tract on a warm sunny day and were rewarded with soft but somewhat muddy trails for the first 5km, then alternating icy and sand trails for the last 2km.

• Mon, Feb-27, 2012, Uxbridge - Secord/Goodwood ORTA Map 5; Slow to Moderate pace; 2.5hrs. Hike the winter trails of Secord Forest and part of a new side trail in Goodwood Tract. Bring along a warm drink and wear boots, icers or snowshoes as the weather dictates. Well mannered dogs are encouraged to bring along their owners. Join us for lunch afterwards. Brian & Wilma

• Mon, Jan-16, 2012, Uxbridge - Durham Forest ORTA Map 5; Slow to Moderate pace; 2.5hrs. Loop hike. Hilly, winding trails in Durham Forest. Bring along a warm drink and wear boots, icers of snowshoes as the weather dictates. Well mannered dogs are encouraged to bring their owners. Join us for lunch afterwards. Meet in parking lot East side of 7th Con., 1km south of Durham Rd. 21. Brian &Wilma

  Thirty-three of us plus our alternate canine leader headed out on an 8 km trek along several of the marked forest trails-maple, white pine and spruce, plus the ORMT

Bring along a warm drink and wear boots, icers or snowshoes as the weather dictates. Well mannered dogs are encouraged to bring their owners. Join us for lunch afterwards.
