Here are some pictures of hikes I have been on with the Oak Ridges Trail Association. Some people are having challenges manipulating the thumbnail pages, so I created this HELP file. (Click on HELP). If you have a Facebook account, please consider joining our Oak Ridges Trail Group.

• Mon, May 5, 2008. York Region Forest - Bendor & Graves Tract, ORTA map 4 Loop hike - 2.5-3 hrs, slow to moderate. Well-mannered dogs are welcome. Shady forested trails. Wilma and Brian

  Brian & Wilma were back to lead on this very scenic hike.

• Mon, Apr 21,2008. Uxbridge –– Durham Forest and ORT map 5 Loop hike – 2.5 - 3hrs.- slow to moderate. Well-mannered dogs are welcome. Moderate hills through mature forest. Gary Niece

  Gary led us on a 11 Km hike. A little further and faster than we are used to, But we managed to finish and enjoy the hike.

• Mon, Apr 7, 2008 Uxbridge – Walker Tract, ORTA map 5 Loop hike – 2.5 - 3hrs. - slow to moderate. Well mannered dogs are welcome. Sheltered, winding trails through mature forest. Russ Burton.

  Another great hike with Russ subbing for Brian & Wilma. Some times the snow was a bit deep if you stepped of the trail but it was still afun hike.

• Mon., Mar. 24, 2008 York Region Forest Hall Tract (map 4). 2.5-3 hrs. Slow to moderate. Well mannered dogs welcome. Sheltered forested trails. Snowshoes? Boots? Bring a drink and snacks. Joan Taylor

  17 people enjoyed this days great hike. People used snowshows, icers & just boots, so the conditions were good for all.

• Sat., Mar. 15, 2008 King East (Map 2) Slow to moderate 1.5 - 2 Hrs. Will go E or W depending on conditions and hikers. Bob

  Only three of us turned up on this beutiful day. We did a T & B on the East side. Two of us used snowshoes & one didn't so the hike was good for all. Too bad more people did not come out.

• Mon., Mar. 10, 2008. Uxbridge Countryside Preserve Trail, Uxbridge (map 5). 2.5 hrs, slow to moderate. Join us for a March Break outing. Well mannered dogs are welcome. Snowshoes? Boots? Rolling meadowland and woodlands located at the southern boundary of Uxbridge. Brian and Wilma

  One person had to turn back because of no snowshoes, but the rest of us had a great time snow shoeing.

• Mon., Jan 28, 2008. Palgrave Forest, Map 1 Loop Hike 2.5 hrs - 3 hrs. Slow to moderate. Well mannered dogs welcome. Snowshoes? Boots? A variety of sceinic forest trails. Meet in parking lot N of Mill Pond at N end of Palgrave. Bring a water and snack. Brian and Wilma

  11 people started out on this hike, but 2 without snowshoes left early. Brian led us through a twisted maze of forested trails. It was a perfect day for snow showing.

• Sat., Feb 23, 2008 King East (Map 2) Slow to moderate 1.5 - 2 Hrs. Will go E or W depending on conditions and hikers. Meet at Keele St. entrance 0.8 km north of 15th Sdrd.. Bob & Diane Hughes

  10 hikers joined me on this beautiful sunny day. That's 2 Saturdays of sun in a row! We hiked 5.1 Km East this time.

• Sat., Feb 16, 2008 King East (Map 2) Slow to moderate 1.5 - 2 Hrs. Will go E or W depending on conditions and hikers. Bob & Diane Hughes

  It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to hike west this time. The region had cleared the Keele St Entrance, so parking was no problem. 5 hikers enjoyed this pleasent 5 Km hike.

• Mon., Jan 28, 2008 Durham Forest, Map 5. Uxbridge ORT and Trans Canada Trail. 2.5 hrs. Slow to moderate. Well mannered dogs welcome. Snowshoes? Boots? Your choice. Rolling forested terrain. Brian or Wilma

  26 hikers joined Brian & Wilma. Some snowshows, icers & just plain boots were used. It was a beautiful day for an outing in the woods.

• Sat., Jan 26, 2008 King East (Map 2) Slow to moderate 1.5 - 2 Hrs. Will go E or W depending on conditions and hikers. Meet at Keele St. entrance 0.8 km north of 15th Sdrd. Bob & Diane Hughes

  9 hikers were out for todays hike. Diane couldn't make it so Bob led this 5 Km hike East around Eaton lake. It was a nice hike with the sun poking out part way through.

• Mon., Jan 14, 2008. York Region Forest North Tract, Map 4, 2.5-3 hrs. Slow to moderate. Well mannered dogs welcome. Snowshoes? Boots? Your choice… Forested terrain. Bring a warm drink and snacks. Going for lunch after to thaw out. Contact Brian or Wilma

  16 hikers enjoyed todays hike. Brian & Wilma could not make it, so Joan led the hike with Bob Comforts assistance. Snowshoes were not needed, but a few people wore icers.
